On May 17, the foundation stone of a Rosagromarket distribution center was laid in Novosibirsk. The center is a pilot project of a nationwide distribution network. Tashir Group is the general designer and contractor on the project. In Stage 1, the total area of the facility will be 105,000 square meters. It is located on a property of 43 hectares. A total of 8.2 billion rubles will be invested in the construction of the Novosibirsk distribution center, with Sberbank providing project finance. The facility is expected to be commissioned in Q2 of 2019.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Evgeny Nepoklonov, chief advisor to the Vnesheconombank president Anton Perin, Rosagromarket CEO Bogdan Grigoryev and Tashir Group Vice President Artak Evoyan laid the foundation stone of the pilot distribution center. The Novosibirsk center will include multi-temperature and freezer terminals and modern trade pavilions, as well as auxiliary and technological buildings and facilities. Rosagromarket and Tashir Group signed the general design and contractor agreement in late 2017. Construction started in March 2018.
In February 2018, Vnesheconombank (Rosagromarket co-investor) signed an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture to build a nationwide network of distribution centers. A total of ten federal-level centers will be built, as well as up to 30 interregional centers. At the next stage, similar centers will be built in Kazan and Rostov-on-Don, and the first version of a unique nationwide digital platform for trade and logistics, ORTs Marketplace, will be launched, creating a single information space for participants. This will dramatically increase the efficiency of sales and deliveries of agricultural products, as well as make all the participants more competitive. The platform will allow cashless payments and remote contracts, including those for logistics and services. The centers in Kazan and Rostov-on-Don are scheduled to be commissioned in late 2019.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Evgeny Nepoklonov: “The Rosagromarket project has been approved by the governor’s Investment Council. In addition to resolving various problems related to agricultural sales, this project will also address the issue of price hikes and optimize the movement of goods at all the stages, from production to consumption. We treat this as a priority project. The construction of a modern distribution center will make an important contribution to our region’s infrastructure, offering warehouses and services for agricultural producers and suppliers. Going forward, the Rosagromarket distribution center will reduce sales costs both the holding company and for small businesses”.
Rosagromarket CEO Bogdan Grigoryev: “The foundation stone has been laid, so congratulations to all of our partners. Significant resources, especially time-wise, were committed to this project, which received support of the government as represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, and investors and banks represented by Vnesheconombank and Sberbank, and our international partners FM Logistic and Mercasa. Thanks to Vnesheconombank’s active involvement, we have a real chance to create unique, state-of-the-art nationwide infrastructure system connected together via a high-tech online platform”.
Tashir Group Vice President Artak Evoyan: “Tashir Group has a long-standing reputation of a reliable partner who has all the necessary resources for construction projects of any complexity. Tashir works in practically all the key territories of Russia. Today we launch this project in Novosibirsk, and we are confident that the Novosibirsk Region will receive a modern, high-quality center which will boost the region’s appeal for investors, create new jobs and help develop the agricultural industry here. For Tashir Group, this distribution center is another key project in a series of commercial, residential, medical, energy and other construction projects that Tashir has been working on over the past two decades”.
Chief advisor to the Vnesheconombank president Anton Perin: ““The creation of a nationwide network of distribution centers is an important step in enhancing Russia’s food security and supporting domestic agricultural producers. This infrastructure project will create a single transparent system which will significantly improve logistical efficiency and reduce costs for agricultural producers, providing domestic companies with easy access to modern agrologistical infrastructure and markets outside their territories. I am confident that producers and consumers in Siberia will appreciate the new opportunities offered by the Novosibirsk distribution center”.
