The American financial and economic Forbes magazine has published an annual ranking of the richest people in the world (The World's Billionaires). Samvel Karapetyan, the founder and president of Tashir Group, , was listed at 418th, placing his fortune at USD 4.5 billion.
As the Forbes' editorial staff notes, "Samvel Karapetyan, who heads Tashir Group, made large acquisitions during the recent financial crisis, and today the Group includes many office buildings, hotels and 28 shopping centres. His business covers 25 regions of Russia, but recently he has focused on new projects in the Moscow region. In 2014, Tashir Group grossed over USD 1 billion in revenue from leased real estate holdings and opened its 20th shopping centre under the RIO brand.
Samvel Karapetyan has been appearing in the Forbes' rating of the richest people in the world since 2011 when his fortune amounted to USD 1.4 billion.
The World's Billionaires ranking has been published by Forbes annually since 1987; and it evaluates the fortune of the richest people in the world based upon its own methodology.
