On August 10, the 2018 Implemented Construction Project of the Year Awards ceremony took place in Moscow. The new building of the Morozov Children’s Hospital, built by Tashir Group, was named the best implemented construction project in health care.

The jury selected 12 best projects in different categories out of 92 candidates. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin presented the award to Medproect, the contractor that nominated the project for the award. Speaking at the ceremony, the mayor said, “As we look at the list of these projects, we realize that what makes them unique is not only their architectural design, not only their appearance, but also their contents. Millions of Muscovites need them.”

The new building of the Morozov Children’s Hospital opened last October. Tashir replaced dilapidated buildings of the infectious diseases department with a new modern building hosting 15 departments, including Moscow’s first bone marrow transplant department. The nine-story building of 71,000 square meters will host 500 in-patients. The building has unique functional and technological capabilities. Also, it is connected to other buildings via a skywalk.

This is the 17th time Moscow’s Urban Development Department gives its Implemented Construction Project of the Year Award. The jury is led by Moscow Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Construction Marat Khusnullin. In addition to the jury, everybody is welcome to vote for their favorite projects in 12 categories through the Active Citizen app.
