Tashir Group has finalized the deal to lease and sell spaces in RIO shopping centers to major anchor tenants. The latest additions to the tenant pool include three Auchan hypermarkets and a Maxi hypermarket.
For example, the Maxi hypermarket, which is part of a retail chain owned by an eponymous Vologda company, will open simultaneously with the new RIO shopping center in Arkhangelsk (19 Badigin Prospekt) in March 2018. The gross area of the new hypermarket is 8,200 sq.m. The store will be the seventh hypermarket in the Maxi chain and Maxi’s 27th retail store. In addition to the hypermarket, the shopping center will have a Cinema Star multiplex, a PlayLab entertainment center for children and other stores of international and Russian operators as its anchor tenants.
Three new Auchan hypermarkets will open in the RIO shopping centers in Belgorod, Kostroma and Vologda. The hypermarkets in Kostroma and Belgorod are expected to open in 2017, while the one in Vologda will open in Q1 of 2018. The lease agreement is for 30 years. The combined area of the new hypermarkets is about 30,000 sq.m. This is not the first Auchan at a Tashir shopping center. In 2012, an Auchan store opened at the Nizhny Novgorod RIO shopping center.
The RIO shopping center chain is a successful development project highly esteemed by the professional community on the commercial real estate market. Different RIO centers have won a total of seven prestigious awards. Since the opening of the first RIO back in 2005, Tashir Group has opened 19 RIO shopping centers in 15 Russian cities.
