This June 27, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of RF Government, accompanied by Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, and Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Healthcare, visited the new block of Morozov Children’s City Clinical Hospital (CCCH), Moscow, Tashir Group being the general contractor of its construction. The block is currently at its lock-up phase, to be commissioned soon.

The Chairman, the Mayor and the Minister inspected the new block. Dmitry Medvedev expressed his appreciation for the project in progress: “The hospital being modernized, we started our joint visit from the construction site examination. Very soon, the hospital here will look updated—and be equipped with advanced technological solutions. I can’t but say it’s a joy to watch it in progress. It makes one realize the key development directions for our medicine, the whole of Russia’s healthcare.”

Tashir Group commenced building of a new, state-of-the-art CCCH block in January 2014, the new facility replacing the demolished infectious blocks, built in the 1930s and quite unsafe. The 9-storey building (7 storeys above ground and 2 underground) will contain several departments: endocrinology, physiotherapy, pulmonology, neurosurgery and neurooncology, ophthalmology and eye microsurgery, traumatology, etc., able to accommodate a total of up to 500 patients.

The project is at its closing stage, Tashir Group planning to install the equipment soon. Morozov CCCH is scheduled for commissioning early next year. As soon as the works are complete, the new block will be ready for full-power use and patient accommodation.

The Mayor of Moscow has been at the site before; during a planned visit in July 2015, he stated: “It will definitely be one of the best clinics in Russia and Europe alike. All logistics is well-planned. The closed loop of care will allow the doctor to diagnose the disease quickly, and the patient, to receive adequate treatment.”

Within the contract, Tashir Group has fulfilled all of the works to construct the new block of CCCH as well as the works to reconstruct the building of oxygen gasifier. In accordance with the reconstruction project, Tashir Group will automate the management system and the hospital information system. The area of the new block works totals 71,200 sq m.

About the new block for Morozov Children’s City Clinical Hospital (CCCH)

 

The new building of treatment block will consist of an admission department with filter boxes for the newcomer patients at the ground floor, and wards for one and two persons at all other floors above ground. All wards will have alarm buttons and an advanced surveillance system. The new block was designed for comfortable accommodation of little patients. Specifically, beside special play zones in departments, the second storey above ground will have a central upper, skylit playground with stained glass artwork ceiling window. Wards meant for kids under seven will offer comfortable accommodation with parents.

The approved project stipulates for an airbridge between the new block and an existing block of the Hospital. Two new entrances to the territory will be added from 3rd Lyusinovsky Pereulok.

 

The block is divided into therapy and surgery, each of those containing several departments: endocrinology, pulmonology, neurosurgery and neurooncology, traumatology and orthopedics, etc. Within each section of the departments, treatment spaces are included as well as play zones and classrooms. The central surgery of the new block will contain 12 operating theaters and special smaller operating rooms in ward areas, with an additional intensive care and anesthesiology unit to accommodate 33 kids. On top of this, functional diagnostics, endoscopy, physiotherapy and exercise therapy, and radiology departments will work here, and a clinical and diagnostic laboratory capable of 2 million tests per year. All of those will feature most advanced medical equipment.

State Budget Healthcare Institution of the city of Moscow “Morozov Children’s City Clinical Hospital” under the Moscow Healthcare Department was founded in 1903 and is a multi-profile specialized clinical hospital to include 35 departments and accommodate a total of 1025 patients (39 of them in resuscitation and intensive care; 5 of them in the day patient department). The hospital profiles include surgery, infectology, neurosurgery, neurooncology, neonatology, traumatology, somatology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, pediatrics, oncogematology, cardiorheumatology, endocrinology, neurology, and gastroenterology. The hospital employs 1,721 people, out of those 535 are doctors incl. 7 Professors, 41 M.D.s and 94 Candidates of Medicine; 2 doctors have been awarded with the title of Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation.
