Tashir Group announces the Grand opening of its 20th shopping centre under the RIO banner. The new centre is located in the heart Tambov, and is destined to become the main hub of shopping and social activities for the residents. Governor of the Tambov region Oleg Betin and the head of the Tambov city administration Alexandr Bobrov, took park in the red ribbon cutting ceremony signifying the centre's official launch.

Alexandr Bobrov stated at the ceremony: “Today we are witnessing the launch of another high-quality establishment in our city - the RIO shopping centre, which has already become an essential part of the city infrastructure. Today's launch is an important contribution of Tashir Group to the development of Tambov and a significant investment into the city's economy that will not be limited to this project.”
The investment into the project amounts to 50 million dollars. Tashir was the single contractor at all stages of implementation: design, construction, brokerage and property management were undertaken by divisions of the Group. Sarkis Karapetyan, vice-president of the Group: "Tashir continues to construct and launch projects at a regional level throughout Russia, providing these cities with a high-quality of retail space. The new RIO complex is the first of its kind in Tambov, and we will exert every effort to make this project the best for the residents of the city."
The new retail centre, with a total area of 30 000 square metres, is located in the centre of Tambov on Soviet street - one of the main streets of the city, close to the Central Park and the Tsna river embankment. The complex provides parking for 300 cars.

To date, the complex is at 95% leased occupancy, with over 80% of the shops already open and operating. Approximately 90 national and international retail chains are represented over the building's 4 floors. Anchor tenants of the project include: Perekrestok supermarket; the M.Video shop of home appliances and electronics; Cinema Star; PlayLab children's entertainment centre; the city's first international clothing brand NewYorker; as well as Modis; FunDay; and the children's shop Korablik. The gallery of the new RIO centre also houses the following outlets: L'etoile, Oodji, Incity, Kira Plastinina, Adidas, Reebok, AdidasKids, Kari, Makfine, Pandora, YvesRoche, BeFree, LoveRepublic, ConceptClub, Acoola, etc.

The entertainment component of the project includes a 4-screen Cinema Star complex, a children's PlayLab entertainment centre, a Coffeen cafe, and a food court featuring Tashir Pizza, Subway, Mybox, Baskin Robbins and McDonald's. The latter is the first in the city to be located within a shopping complex and also includes a summer terrace.
On the day of its launch, the new RIO was visited by about 17, 000 people. A series of interactive shows and master classes, surprises and raffles, performances by dance groups and acrobats, as well as Russian pop stars - all provided a real treat for the visitors on the day.
