According to Kommersant newspaper, Tashir Group is the most active retail property developer in Russia: in 2012, Tashir opened six shopping centres totalling 360 thousand square metres with an additional nine properties to be opened by 2013. “Based on the total number of commissioned shopping centres, Tashir is the absolute leader. For example, last year IKEA did not commission a single property,” notes Tatyana Klyuchinskaya, the head of the retail department of Jones Lang LaSalle.  

In 2012, Tashir Group was accredited with second place by INFOLine Developer Russia Top-100 (for 1.38 mln square metres). However, IKEA is still the largest developer in Russia – the company owns 15 properties totalling 2.21 mln square metres. Third place is occupied by Adamant, a holding in St Petersburg that owns 1.09 mln square metres of retail property. Fourth place belongs to the Regions Group (750.5 thousand square metres) while fifth place is taken up by Crocus Group, with 712 thousand square metres.
