RIO named the best shopping centre in St Petersburg

The annual CRE St. Petersburg & Federal Awards 2013 – the most highly anticipated event for commercial real estate in Russia – focused on honouring the best property meeting contemporary standards of development. RIO Shopping Centre in St Petersburg, owned by Tashir Group, was named the best shopping centre within the Mid-Range category.

The RIO Shopping Centre has an area of about 64,000 square metres and is located in one of the largest areas of St Petersburg – Frunzensky region. Currently, Rio is not just a successful Tashir project; it is also one of the favourite shopping centres for the locals. Leading international and national retailers are represented within its' arcades. The centre was the first of its kind in St. Petersburg, pulling together all types of leisure activities under one roof: a large ice-skating rink, a 6-screen Cinema Star multi-complex, 5D and 7D cinemas, a play centre, and bowling alley.

Receiving the Golden Brick award, Olga Parshikova, the head of Tashir Group’s commercial property department, said: “We view this victory as an important achievement and a highest, and most importantly – unbiased award because the jury consists of the foremost professionals in the commercial property market.
